Pediatric Speech Therapy in Chicago
Jordan Sadler, MS, CCC/SLP, is a licensed, credentialed pediatric speech and language therapist with more than 15 years of experience. She has won awards for her work and was mentioned in the New York Times in November 2011 for her knowledge of excellent iPad apps for autism. She has had the opportunity to train large school district groups in the SCERTS Model as a consultant to Communication Crossroads, and facilitates workshops on use of the iPad with special needs children in the Chicago area and beyond.
As a therapist focused on whole child development, Jordan understands that all children learn to be better communicators when clinicians meet them where they are developmentally and design a speech therapy program that suits their individual learning profiles. She also knows that, unless we partner with the other adults in a child's life, coordinating our efforts, this won't work. Jordan incorporates the latest technology to keep her teaching tools up to date and to give children with emerging verbal skills a voice.
Speech and language therapy is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. In her eclectic approach, Jordan creatively draws from proven methodologies such as the SCERTS® Model, DIR®/Floortime, Hanen, Story Grammar Marker®, Zones of Regulation®, and the Social Thinking® work of Michelle Garcia Winner, SLP.
Specialties: Disorders of social communication and pragmatics, language processing disorders, expressive language challenges, language-based learning disabilities. Children who are not yet speaking are welcome.
Private speech therapy and consultative services are available.

What parents are saying about Jordan:
"My son has been going to Communication Therapy for almost a year. I had spoken to other therapists but there was something special about Jordan when I spoke to her on the phone. She didn't come across as someone just trying to get my business, there was a genuine interest in trying to help my child. I've seen great improvement in my child's expressive and receptive language. He looks forward to his weekly sessions with her. She is ready with a social story when needed. I feel lucky and grateful to have found her. I believe she is helping me to create a better future for my son."
"Jordan is amazing! She listened to my concerns about my son - supported my own thoughts and feelings while offering valuable professional insight. She is a natural with the kids and because she is also a mom, she offers great support to the entire family she serves. We're incredibly lucky to have her on the north side!"
"I wholeheartedly recommend Jordan as a speech therapist. I was worried that my child would be resistant to go to "therapy", but quite the contrary, she has a great time! She has made great strides as well with her speech issues. Jordan is very attuned to your child's needs, and will take the time to answer all of your questions and give you tips to practice with your child at home. Since I am not usually present during the sessions (she comes to my child's school) I especially appreciate the fact that Jordan will send me photos and videos of the session. It helps me stay connected to what's going on."
"Jordan also seamlessly works with my son's teachers. Her communication is phenomenal and most important - My son LOVES to go to his sessions with her. As an educator myself, I thoroughly appreciate that Jordan speaks to many audiences on a variety of topics and continues to educate herself by participating in conferences while also sharing new materials and books with her clientele."
"Communication Therapy is a top notch organization! My 9 year old daughter has been seeing Jordan since she was 4 and has progressed more than I had ever imagined. She has gone from only speaking in scripts to speaking with no issues. She has graduated to learning higher language skills as well as more socially appropriate conversations with her peers through a "Lunch Bunch" group. I consider myself lucky to have been with Communication Therapy since it started here in Chicago."
